Named after one-time city district Blumenthal and built back between 1885 โ 1888, this impressive church looms over tiny Floriรกnske square and although commonly overlooked by tourists, Blumental Church is located within walking distance from Bratislava city centre and has to offer much more than just a splendid piece of sacral architecture โ as if that was not enough to begin with.
Blumenthal Church is surrounded by an array of my favourite places to hang out. Especially Radlinskรฉho street houses some of the gems definitely worth your visit, from a nice cafรฉ to a cozy pub with a charming garden in the back overlooking the church, right next to an amazing winehouse that offers an exquisite taste of locally produced wines by small winemakers. Obviously, this place is a simple no-brainer for true lovers of wine, since the area around Bratislava has a history of winemaking and over the years of nurturing the tradition, some of the wineries are successfully paving their path to perfection. Take my word for it!
After all, for those not versed in wine culture it can be nice to sit down and enjoy a cup of good coffee in nearby Caffรฉ Trieste with an amazing view of Blumental Church and chill out after a long but rewarding walk around all those adorable streets of Bratislava. Beautiful architecture, good coffee and fine wine โ what else could I yearn for?
