If you want to enjoy probably the most amazing view Berlin has to offer, you have to go into Berlin's famous forest Grunewald and visit the spectacular Grunewaldturm, a tower that reaches 55 meters high. This height allows you to look over Berlin's marvelous lakes and forests, a panorama that could well have inspired a poet to write some romantic lines.
If you are afraid of heights - no problem, get yourself a beer or whatever you prefer at the beautifully located restaurant under the tower and enjoy the view from there - it is still amazing. In summer and autumn, you can see the boats go by on the river Havel and just dream yourself away.
This spot is a guaranteed holiday for some hours or as long as you please to stay. From there, you can walk through the epic forest as well or just take the bus 218, which I call the "Dream Liner", because you take, without a doubt, Berlin's most beautiful bus ride.
The Grunewald makes as well for some amazing bike tours, but please don't forget your safety gear, as the slopes can get really difficult. Why I did not include a picture of Grunewaldturm itself, you might ask: Because I want you to go out and see it yourself. It is definitely worth a visit.
