Zaokret is one of the most popular bars in one of the trendiest spots in Belgrade—an old brewing factory transformed into a gathering place, mainly for young people, known as Cetinjska, with numerous spots to explore.
I'm not writing about Zaokret solely as a place for drinks and parties, although you certainly wouldn't go wrong with that either. Instead, I want to highlight Zaokret's introduction of brunch to its daily offerings, as the food they provide is equally worth experiencing.
From 10 AM to 4 PM, Zaokret serves mainly simple yet flavorful dishes that won't keep you waiting for long. The menu includes various options such as eggs prepared in different styles, different versions of oatmeal, sandwiches, and some slightly more exotic choices like shakshuka or the Zaokret super bowl—a tasty mix of vegetables topped with tahini sauce. Most of the meals on the menu are vegan and vegetarian-friendly, which is important for me as I'm not a huge meat lover. Additionally, the menu changes with the seasons, offering dishes with figs in summer and pumpkin in autumn. This not only adds to the intrigue but also entices you to return and try their new and innovative food combinations.
