Personally, I'm not a huge chocolate lover. Sure, I have my cravings, but in comparison with other people I seem to prefer salty to sweet things. So you get the idea that it's not easy to impress me when it comes to sweet delights. Nevertheless, here I am writing about a "Chocolate Gallery" in Belgrade. So what's so special about this place?
First of all it's made by the people who try really hard to please chocolate lovers. As I'm not munching chocolates all day long I'm not in the position to say that these are the best sweets in the world but they are surely very, very good since I haven't seen anyone disappointed yet. Secondly, it's all made in Serbia. Thirdly, the selection is huge (you only see half of it in my photo). There are dozens of different chocolates, pralines, truffles etc. in all colors and sizes. An additional plus is that most of them come also in unpackaged variety and all at same price so you can try a few of each until you find your favorite. Lastly, this is a "tourist friendly" place, not only by its central location (next to pedestrian shopping avenue Kneza Mihaila St), but also since they have a number of boxes of chocolates with tourist motifs.
My personal favorite has a very local flare: real raspberries, of which Serbia is one of the leading world producers, covered in milk chocolate. Delicious chocolate and a quintessentially Serbian product.
