Belgrade has been undergoing significant changes in recent months, driven in large part by the influx of people from Russia who have come to live here, bringing with them new energy and influences. A noticeable effect of this change is the opening of various local spots, cafés, restaurants, and coffee places. I find this great because, after living in Belgrade for so many years, I started going to the same places repeatedly. This new wave of change offers the opportunity to discover new places and perhaps find new favorites.
One of the first places I visited, which I'd consider one of the most popular, is Bife Bar. It's a small bar with a cozy balcony located in an old, somewhat forgotten shopping mall at the end (or perhaps the beginning?) of Knez Mihajlova Street.
Bife Bar has an interesting interior, with a striking pigeon mosaic as the first thing you see when you walk in. I'd say the bar's trademark is its homemade Nastojkas or shots, which come in various flavors. I've tried the pistachio and poppy seed versions, both of which I highly recommend. A unique aspect of this place is its thematic food days, where they often collaborate with other local Belgrade spots or restaurants to offer special dishes, in addition to their regular menu.
On weekend nights, there's always good music and a lively dancing crowd. So it is great place to spend your afternoon or weekend night out.
