Nothing better than a refreshing ice-cream on a hot Spanish summer day. And although the city is packed with ice-cream shops and there are many in my neighbourhood, there's only a few in town that can fix my ice cream cravings.
Parellelo Gelato is my absolute favourite in Barcelona. The owners are Italian, so you can trust them for making delicious artisanal ice cream. But don't expect just the usual classics. They call themselves flavour hunters and that's what I love about this place; they have a lot of surprising options! Depending on the seasonal ingredients, they keep re-inventing their offer. Black sesame, liquorice, yoghurt-curry or matcha tea... every few weeks you can find something new. Not so adventurous or simply a classic flavour lover? The classics taste so good too, it is totally worth a visit!
They have 2 locations nowadays. The original shop is hidden in a lovely street just above the popular shopping street Passeig de Gracia and a great starting point for a stroll up Gracia. Their newest addition can be found cose to Arc the Triomf, on Ausias March 55 and is a great starting point to stroll down to Park Ciutadella.
Just writing this now, makes me crave my favourite cream-peanut-dulce de leche ice cream. So, trusting I've made you enthusiastic enough now, I'm ending this article and going to have an ice cream!
