Teras is full of contradictions: it is unconventionally named (teras means 'monster' in greek) in an ugly way but it is one of the most beautiful places to enjoy your drink. Teras carries more contradictions as it is located in the Neos Kosmos neighborhood, a residential area known just for its many car repair shops and not for its vibrant nightlife and culture. However, in the last few years, the proximity to the metro and the need to escape the overcrowded city center has led many Athenians to create spaces in the surrounding areas.
Teras is located in an elegant early 20th-century building that has been painted pink. The residential character has been retained and each room of the old house is tastefully furnished with the bar located in the center. Undoubtfully, the hotspot in Teras is the leafy backyard where you can enjoy day-to-night food and drinks. The breakfast and brunch choices are great while vegan and healthy options are available. I think Teras is ideal for working remotely or arranging casual professional meetings as it is serene in the mornings. The first floor serves as a space for workshops, corporate events, etc. I spent a couple of days at an event hosted in Teras and I was really impressed by the catering and the staff. So, don't judge Teras by its name: once you get to know this monster, it will become obvious that it was carefully designed and decorated and will make you feel at home.
