Una paloma blanca, I'm just a bird in the sky... That must be one of my favorite old-time hits. I'm pretty sure this song must make it to wine bar Paloma's playlist every now and then. This bar is ideally located in Antwerp's harbor area 't Eilandje where estate prices are going sky high these days because of its popularity with both locals and tourists.
The first thing I noticed the first time I walked in were the pretty, tiled floor, the stylish bar and the vintage wooden seating area. Bonus points for coziness! Oh and of course the blue neon sign depicting a pigeon.
Even more memorable is the actual drink list. Apart from the regular Belgian beer selection, there is also an interesting offer of natural wines by the glass or bottle, exotic spirits and mocktails. They even serve the special orange wines that are so popular right now and an alternative, local Belgian coca cola. Last time I went in, I ordered a glass of Blonde Andréa Calek, a well-balanced blend of Chardonnay and Viognier. Light, sparkling and fun, just like me ;)
Paloma is the place to be for an aperitif on Friday evening, a night out on Saturday, or even for a heartwarming coffee on a Sunday afternoon. Owner Vincent is always there to help you make the right choice! Cheers to that!

A classic is the pizza Calabrese with spicy salami, paprika, tomato, and mozzarella. Ask for some grilled onions on top to make it even tastier (you can thank me later).
